250g dd build

Ive been keeping tanks for over 12 yrs now and I'm finally working my dream build. A carpenter is making a custom stand/canopy for my new 250g deep dimension (60x36x27). I have 2 things i would like an opinion on.

1. I'm finishing the oak exterior with a medium stain then varnish. For the interior i am considering raw varnished wood or paint. Which do you think will look best? If paint what color and why.

2. In previous builds i have always used soft vinyl tube for the plumbing. I am considering using rigid PVC for everything except the last foot before the pump to reduce vibration. What do you feel is the best way to plumb with PVC? Any tips?

1- 100% personal preference... White paint will keep it brighter down there by reflecting light better though..

2- measure twice..cut..test fit..finalize all plans then glue...plan the placement of unions so sections can be easily removed/replaced/repaired as needed

Yea i thought about white or black. Not sure i want my fuge light reflecting and growing algae all over my sump

White makes it cleaner and much easier to see under the tank.
PVC and superflex or ultraflex PVC are the way to go.

I really wouldn't consider anything but pvc for a larger build. I have started even moving away from schedule 40 to schedule 80 for critical points. Put as many unions as you can to make for easy maintenance/revisions.
