Anyone have any old, used 250w XM 20k bulbs laying around? I just want to see what they look like in person over my tank.

Great Dan. Thanks. Can I run over to your shop someday and grab a few? I just want to run them a few hours (if that) to see if I like the blue look, or to see just how blue they are. I know it will be like night and day compared to the XM 10K's I'm running now, but I do like the 10K's with VHO actinics.

Yea sure.I know I have 1 for sure with 7 months of use at 8 hour photoperiod.I may have more but i need to look .

Sounds good Dan. Let me know what you can dig up. It doesn't really matter how old they are as long as they fire up. If I like the color, I will buy all new 1's.

Thats fine Dan. I'll try the 1 you have to at least see how it looks. I have f-can magnetic ballasts. I don't think they will fire Radiums.

You got PM ;)

Thanks for letting me try your extra bulbs Dan. They are quite the change from the XM 10k's. In fact my wife (who wouldn't even notice if I took all the corals out of the tank and replaced them with fake corals) asked what happened to the lights and why they are so dim.
I'm not sure I like this look. He's a few pics of the difference.

A couple things I want to mention. Those bulbs are about 50% as bright as new ones would be so dont base it on that. Also the corals develope different pigments over time under different K bulbs so what you see now is not a good representation of what they will look like in a couple months after the corals had time to adjust there pigments to the 20k bulbs.the bulbs do not simply make the corals colorful but the accessory pigments the coral develops over time under high K bulbs is actually what makes the color pop.

I will bring the par meter for you in the morn
