25gal all-glass. what to do for sump & skimmer

hello!

I have a pretty new 25g all glass setup with All-glass stand. The tank is 24"x12"x20". The stand will allow about 10"x20" but the door opening is only 12". I bought a 10gal to put in there, but it's just barely too big.

What are some suggestions for my sump and Protein Skimmer. I would like to have the ability to have a refugium someday. I was thinking about putting a smaller (5.5g) aquarium down there then using a bulkhead to plumb into a skimmer then return back to a SCWD? That is just a thought tho, dunno if that is even possible for an external plumbed skimmer? So... asking for ideas!

Thanks!

Currently:
25gal, 2 MJ 900's, Fluval 305, 30lb rock, 3.5" fine sand bed
1 clown, 1 6-line wrasse, 1 yellow watchman goby
2 different zoo frags, 1 leather and 1 group of GSP

well.....will the 10 fit if you take the doors off then put them back on? if a 10 wont fit then personally i would not bother with the 5.5. is there any way to but the tank in from the back?

lets see a pic ofthe stand in question. Most prefab stands have a thin piece of laminate wood for a back panel which is easily removed

The 10gal measures 10 & 3/8" deep. My depth inside the stand is 1/16 shorter (10 1/4). Also, the length is about 1 inch more than a 10gal inside the stand. I can fit a 10gal inside the door standing tall, but then there is NO room to turn it.

The stand only has one door the back matches the opening on the front (without the door). All verticle boards seem to be load bearing.

Stand inside is 22 by 10 1/4
door opening is 12 3/4 by 21 tall
10gal is 20 1/8 by 10 3/8

any more ideas? Anyone know of an 8gal tank? :)

can you dismantle the stand and rebuild it around the sump? if its assembled with screws you should be able to. tan into the same problem with my setup im putting together....gotta get a 15g cuz the 20 is too long
