265g on its way!

I ordered a 265g perfecto (84x24x30). It will be here Thursday night!

The tank is being delivered. Anyone have tips on what I should have available? Once the tank is on the stand, I don't intend to move it off.

I intend to call perfecto tomorrow (Tuesday) to see what their suggestions regarding foam under the tank are. Unless they tell me otherwise, I intend to have foam ready for during delivery.

I'll also have shims and a big level ready.

Anything else anyone can think of?

Most of the equipment will be from my 125.

3x175 halides, pfo electronic ballast/reflector
4xtunze 6100 streams on a 7094
euroreef 12-1 skimmer
litermeter w/ kalk for topoff
velocity t4 for return from sump (a little tentative on this one, might need a little more umph)

CONGRATS !!!!!

Make sure you have about 8 guys to move the tank. I can tell you from experience, it will be like moving 3-4 of your 125's at one time. Way to heavy for 4 people.

I paid to have it delivered. :) I'll have to worry about it next time, but not this time!

I know the feeling!! When mine gets here, I plan on using a local company to bring it in and set it on the stand!

are 3 175s going to be enough light? i would use at least 3x 250ws and that height with good reflectors or even better 3x 400w

I'll second this. I think my 265g weighed around 400-500 lbs empty.

3x175 is what I have, and I don't want to upgrade the lighting right now. I think it will be fine, but I can upgrade down the road if needed. 400s is overkill. 250s would be ideal IMO.

This will be a mixed reef, LPS primarily.

Perfecto tanks have a trim around them. If this is the case on your tank then you do not want the foam. Good luck with the new tank.

did you get the tank with the dual corner overflows. Its a nice tank.I was going to buy one.Its not cheap either.I wanted an 8 ft tank.I know the perfecto is 7 ft.Will you drill the tank for a cl.

Yes, it has the dual overflows. I wanted an 8' tank also. The 7' fit the room better though. And, while this tank was hardly cheap, it was a lot cheaper than a custom tank.

No CL for me. Flow will be handled by the tunze 6100s.

Very nice the tunze are good.Yes the overflows cost $400 CDN when I wanted to order that tank.It came out to $1800 plus tax.Its probably much cheaper in the states.I paid $1400 for my tank(US $) I had it shipped to my house.I do like glass my tank is Acrylic.I like the look but I have always had glass tanks. The tank must weigh a ton though.Glass is heavy. My friend and I lifted the my tank.It wasn't heavy at all.The stand weighed more if you can believe.I was surprised it was that light.

Acrylic has a HUGE advantage over glass in the weight category! I thought about acrylic, but in the end I decided to just buy glass with delivery!
