Well I figured I would start a thread here.

Too keep everyone happy, less talk more pictures.

Here's a pic of the tank.. it's sitting on a temp wood stand while I build the metal stand that will drop into the cabinets, and it's very dirty. Its been sitting around for the better part of a year:

Here is a drawing of the cabinets, the gap in the middle is seven feet. They will be arriving on Friday ( May/09 ) and installation should be completed by Tuesday:

Here's the RO/DI and mixing station:

I have the QT tank just about ready to go, a 75g I had laying around:

Here is a shot of some of the equipment:

Darts
3x400w HQI - 14k
Small media reactors

I'll be ordering up my GEO 6x24 early next week along with some bigger media reactors.

I have a very long way to go and it's going to take awhile but I'm having fun doing it!

Looks good so far Robb, things will go pretty fast once you get those cabinets in.
What are the cabinets made of?
Where is your sump going?

The sump will be going underneath the tank. I'm waiting to build it until everything is in and I can verify space.

The cabinets are a long story... They are regular built cabinets. We are renovating our entire house at the moment, my wife ordered the kitchen cabinets paid the deposit then had second thoughts on the colors. So we ended up canceling the contract, they in turn were going to keep our deposit, a pretty large sum of money.. so instead of losing that money we had them build the above drawing. I have to make all the alterations to it after the fact. I will be lining the interior with lino to waterproof the inside so the cabinet can't be damaged by water. Not the greatest solution, but it's what we had to do to make everything work out.

The tank won't be part of the kitchen, it is in the basement in my family room. I'll try to get some whole room shots up on Tuesday next week.

lol, thanks..1/3 of the stand is out of the picture. The whole stand is close 25' long..

Do you know what stain is on your cabinets? I love it, and may want to ask your permission to copy you and use it on my own stand.

Hey Michika,

Your welcome to it.. The stain color is called Hot Chocolate over alder wood. I'm sure that's not the actuall name of the stain they used to build it with though. I have a sample here I could probably mail you if your interested and you could try to match it.

I'm not sure if I understand you? Front to back or length?

I bought the tank used, so I built around what I had.

If your were talking length, that wall is close to 25' long, way out or my price range!

I like the 24" front to back as it matches the depth of the cabinets, everything looks in proportion.

What I mean was the width as from your pictures, u still have space to go wider but since u bought the tank used, guess you have to make do with whatever width you get..

Will look fantastic once your tank/ cabinets are up..... lot's of storage space...
