So,
Building a new house and the entry way is 17 feet wide. I am planning to have 2 Red Sea Peninsula 650 tanks on each side (or another brand - any help is appreciated). I have a Red Sea 250 Deluxe now, like the tank and look.
I have the opportunity to have the tanks without sumps or basically anything underneath/in the cabinets and have a 14'x14' room in the basement with all the sumps, filters, skimmers, reactors, ro/di, etc... in that room. Seems optimal, but this makes it a large project. (could also add a 3rd tank in the basement using the same equipment - tank would be adjacent to the room in the game room/wall between the two rooms).
So, having everything in the basement, dedicated in a room allows me to build a sump for the 2 or 3 tanks, we would buy the acrylic and make the sump whatever size is best. This leaves a few questions, many more to come:
1 Peninsula tank will be roughly 12 foot vertical and 25 feet horizontal away from the sump.
1 Peninsula tank will be closer, still 12 foot vertical and maybe 15 feet horizontal away.
3rd tank, if we added one - would be 10 foot horizontal away.
Where do I find pumps for that distance and 12 foot of vertical travel?
I would also have to be worried of shutting off pumps to feed or power issues, need to calculate water in the pvc pipes for all that distance and have a sump large enough for the "flood".
Thoughts? or clarification if this doesn't make sense?
