3 chromis O.K.?

What do you guys think about adding a group of 3 blue-green chromis to my Elos Mini 25gal cube with a small, non-hosting ocellaris and a small royal gramma? The rockwork is low profile and there is plenty of open water column for swimming. I tried just one a while back and it disappeared without a trace. Thinking maybe a group of 3 would be less stressed? Other inhabitants is a skunk cleaner shrimp and 2 or 3 snails and hermits.

three blue/green chromis in a 25 will likely start fighting each other quickly. I have three in my 90 and they just tolerate each other, they each have a separate rock they live in. Sufficient hiding spaces are important as most people report them dying off at night fighting for the good real estate.

Thanks for the info. Makes sense.

I am just struggling to find another species to add for a different color/swim pattern.

I have a black/white ocellaris (maybe 2") and a royal gramma (also around 2"). I want something with a different coloration that stays up in the water column more - thinking something blue or red. The gramma is pretty timid and will dart into its cave whenever it is startled. The clown is pretty bold and is not afraid of anything (including my hands!). I think it is responsible for the loss of the single chromis I added a few months back. I did see the gramma open its mouth and flare its gills a time or two though so I'm not sure which one's responsible.

I love the look of flame angels but I have quite a bit of corals and would not want it eating them.

Any suggestions that fit my requirements? I always swore off six-lines but maybe it would be o.k. since it would be the last addition? Would a couple of sapphire damsels fare better than the chromis?

I suggest a yellowtail damsel. Small, not overly aggressive, bright blue, and quite active. Cute, too. Just be sure it doesn't have any yellow on its stomach, because that's a yellowbelly devil and will live up to its name.
