3 Part Dosing

I am considering getting rid of my calc reator and kalk reactor and swithing over to 3 part dosing. What equipment do I need to do this as automatically as possible?

a 3 channel dosing pump(like Profilux, has timer built in) or 3 single channel dosing pumps along with some sort of timer to shut it on and off(preferably a digital one where you could make smaller increments than say the push pin type), large enough containers to pump out of(I just use 1 gallon milk jugs, but some use 5 gallon buckets) and of course the ingredients to make your own solutions, I use Bulk Reef Supply. Hope this helps, we have a couple of people in the club that use the pumps and timers, I still do nightly dosing manually. Have a good one.

Thanks Matt! I am looking at a user 3 pump setup. I was not sure if it was based on a timer or based on cotroller type settings.

They have both, some with built in computer/timers, and some that don't, if you don't have a matching controller for the pumps, make sure you get a model with the computer built in. Good luck, I hope you find what your looking for.

I got an aquamedic 3 channel that is supposed to have built in timers. I guess we will find out soon enough. Now I will just have to figure out the correct dosing times.

If it were me, I would probably just have the pumps dose twice a day during the night time hours(that is when the corals grow and feed). I will have to run an experiment on Alk/Ca consumption day vs. night to see if there is more or less consumption at those broad times. Hope it all works out, it should, have a good one.
