3" Sand Bed

I have a 3" sand bed in my 125 reef tank. As i am moving around some of the sand I am getting a lot of air bubbles coming up is this a good thing or is this a bad thing. If you look at the side if the tank you can see the air bubbles trapped down in the sand. Did not know if this is cause for concern. Thanks for your time and concern. Tom

would'nt worry too much, what kind of cuc do you have I have a ss star that burries himself pretty good which would help eliminate some bubbles if there were any without creatin a dust cloud. some crabs and blennies would do the same

The pockets are the gasses created from the bacteria bracking down waste and nitrates. This is a sign of a healthy sand bed.
