300 wide tank planning.

I am planning on buying this tank very soon (96x30x25). I have a question about flow. I am looking to have a Hammerhead pump for the return and thats it. So first of all, would that be enough flow for that size ank (1 outlet on each corner). Secondly, I want to have a Penductor on each output, and I know they only o upto 1". So by reducing each of the 4 outputs to 1" at the very end, would it affect flow alot? Thanks

I have a close to the same size tank and I am running the dolpin ampmaster 4700 as a return with 4 (3/4 loc-line) It runs 1 1/2 inch line to the loc-line and pump runs fully open with no problems. I am running to overflows with 1 1/2 inch holes

The head height would only be from underneith the tank. But what about the 1" outlets on the Hammerhead. Would it reduce flow alot? Did I ever mention that this is a FOWLR?

I just ordered a 300 gallon wide also from glasscages.com and I was about to ask the same question. I was thinking about getting a sequence dart which is two models under the one your looking at. But my overflow is only rated for 3k gpa so Thats about the biggest I can get I think. You should be more than fine in a FOWLR, thats will be a lot of flow

Yeah, I'm not having them build me an overflow. I am just having them drill 3 1-1/2" holes at the top of the tank, so I can put bulkheads in them and use that as my overflow.

Why do you have to wait so long? You said you ordered it, didnt you? But anyways, I am waiting until late July to order (well I am hoping to get it around mid-July, so probably order sooner). LMK

I am also ordering one the 540 from GC, they told me it takes a few days to build, but the silcone has to cure before they move it, she told me about 10 days before it can be moved

I now have another question. I was reading around here today, and came accross a thread about a guy that just picked up a 300g wide. And he was worried about the humidity. That got me thinking... Will I need something for the humidity? I plan on covering the top, and just having the sump open. But will I need something like a dehumidifier? Thanks

The answers to your questions, I'm moving to florida and can't make the trip to pick up the tank until mid july so I ordered it in advance just so I was sure it would be ready, I'm sure they could make them sooner, just wanted to give them plenty of time.

As for humidity, do you run central air in the summer, your probably going to need to in order to keep the tank temp under control. I have a 240 right now and in the winter the house def is damper than it should be, but in the summer you need your AC to avoid running a chiller.

I don't like covered tops either, from what I read evaporation is a good way to cool your tank and if your going to be running metal halide your going to need to clean the glass daily cuz your salt creep will be incredible.
