300g DIY Acrylic Tank Recommendations

I am just getting back into the hobby after several years and I am looking to build a custom in wall tank for my new construction house. Basically, this will be in place of a fireplace and will run the length of a 120" movie screen above it. I had previously build a 220g tank myself, but I wanted to jump on and get some feedback on technique and material before I started.

The tank will be 10' x 2' x 2' (300g) - euro braced. Unless I find a local supplier that can cut it for me, I will be doing this on my 5x10 CNC. The tank will be sitting on the floor (basically) of the house and running to a crawlspace sump.

Questions:
  • Will 3/4" material be ok or do I need to look at 1". I remember a calculator a long time ago (Garf I think), but I think that is down now.
  • Weldon 4 or 42 (two part)? I have never used 42. Or, is there something else out now?
  • I am in NC - any ideas where I could source a 10' sheet of acrylic?
Any other input is much appreciated.

I won’t be much help on the construction part, but years ago I had a 450 built by James at Envision Acrylics that was 6’x4’x30” and it used 1” acrylic.

I found the long acrylic thread with Turbo and Acrylics input and saw that 3/4 is correct for what I am doing. I also found my old 180 build thread which reminded me of some of the details for build order, etc. Too bad all of my pics are gone.

Were your pics on Photobucket? Unfortunately we lost a lot of pics when they started charging for their service.
