so I have a 240 gallon mixed reef with over 30 fish so far 6 of which are tangs( chocolate mimic, desjardini, 2 yellows, vlamingi, and sohal)6 wrasses(christmas, mystery, yellow coris, flasher, rhomboid, and clown wrasse), 5 gobies(2 randalls, catalina, purple firefish, huge watchman), 1 dwarf golden moray eel, 1 marine betta, 3 clown fish(mated pair goldband maroons, and a picasso in the sump), 1 hawkfish, 1 blue accessor,1 tile goby, 4 damsels, 1 purple dottyback, 1 belus angel(female), 1 bicolor blenny, and a foxface. I am getting another 5 to 6 more wrasses and a male belus angel, another yellow tang and a blue tang from a friend for a great price. I am getting worried about space and bioload. after the new fish I will have about 40 fish or so. and most of the fish are about 3 to 5 inches in size. it looks pretty crazy right now and surprisingly the fish all get along. Don't ask me how cause I don't know. I have a euro reef rs 250 skimmer, I run 2 of the biggest chemipure elite carbons and have a 125 gallon sump full of different macro algaes. should I be worried about adding the fish or should I be happy about it? oh yeah I have 10 cleaner shrimps and 3 fire shrimps too. too many trochus snails and mexican turbos to count.

my current tank info at the bottom is now incorrect. that was about a year ago and since had a major crash and tank is finally up to par.

I have an uncle with a 240 and IME 40 fishes is just pushing it really badly. Now i understand that they're relatively small but when those tangs grow a bit more, most likely things are going to be going down (happened to me). My uncle's 240 only has around 10 fish (mostly tangs) and he's about done with his stock although he can go a bit more. I would recommend keeping only prized fish and under 20 fish total. Hope that helps, Wiz ;)

Vlamingi and sohal get too big IMO, other than that you are fine.

Also adding another yellow to your existing yellows and other tangs may not go so well, same goes for the blue, but may have less issues because they are more passive and you don't have any right now.

i agree with you wiz but about 15 fish were given to me as a result of tanks getting torn down. I didn't want to take them to a LFS because they were very expensive and were extremely healthy. basically I am greedy and didn't want to give them up. I mean would you pass on a male and female hawaiian flame wrasse? A pair of belus angels, a sohal, and other fish that are not as much. so i have a pretty nice rock setup with plenty of places for them hide and swim around. I am just afraid of the bioload because I added about 15 fish in 1 day. started getting a red slime algae problem out of no where. but we'll see what happens.
as for another yellow tang and blue tang I feel like they will be ok because when i put the fish in it will be 7 all at once so they will be confused and it will look crazy with 11 wrasses and 8 tangs. i will be getting them this upcoming weekend so wish me luck.

Not a problem, you do pose a good point, i'm just sharing my thoughts ;) Although, if you do plan on keeping that much of a bioload, consider upgrading that skimmer. Maybe a SWC extreme 300A or Bubble King. For the red slime, check your parameters, if they're in check, consider your bulbs as i've had prefect water but still battled cyano until i replaced my bulbs. Wiz ;)
