3'X5'x2' starphire front and sides, home built tank. set up friday! The tank planing started about a year ago. I got the glass this summer and finally finished the frame around christmas.

2x6130 on wavy seas ( more flow to come)

2 luminarc de pendants burning 250w phoenix 14k bulbs. I'm considering the 12.5k helios par monsters.

the corals have browned significantly during the move but i know they will color up soon.

And the build

That looks great. really excellent job on the stand and tank build. wanna build me a canopy? lol.

I think that table acro is going to look amazing when it branches out a little more, casting a shadow over those valleys. That gives me an idea for my 190 build (if you dont mind lol).

Really nice looking setup. I like the open aquascape, Im planning something similar on my 5'x3'x26" that is arriving in the next two weeks :)

Thanks for the responses; I know the tank is not very colorful or impressive at this point in time. The pillar was a lucky find I pulled out of my sump and just seemed like a good idea for the table acro. The 5x3 dimensions are awesome for the depth and give you great aqua scape options.

Jflip2002- sorry but for now I need a little break from woodworking.

More about the tank:
I am away from the tank for a week at times and therefore automation is very important to me. Someone is around to feed the fish and check to be sure nothing obvious is going wrong during this time. I had a bubble algae problem in my last tank and have a magnificent foxface and mithrax crabs coming in Thursday to hopefully prevent this from reoccurring(I will post pictures). I don’t plan to add any more coral but would love to add more fish once a bigger skimmer is installed. Also all livestock in the tank has been with me for a year or more at this point in time.

Drains: three 1 inch drains
Returns: two ½ inch bulkheads

Filtration located down the basement (pictures to come)

-Skimmer: Euro-reef cs180 (hopefully upgrading soon)
-Calcium reactor: Korallin c1502 (also hopefully upgrading soon)
-90 gallon sump
-70 gallon fuge
-Return pump: Iwaki MD70
-Liter meter III: used for top off (from a 50 gallon storage) and to dose strontium
-Water changes are 40 gallons weekly from a 180 gallon storage using gate valves and an Iwaki MD100
-GFO is run in a two little fishes reactor and changed monthly
Heating: two 250 watt Jagers (this will likely go to 4 shortly)
Cooling: two ice cap 4 inch fans over the fuge
(Both cooling and heating is on a digital controller)

Very nice! You DIYers who build your own glass tanks have real jewels! If I built my own tank and it ever leaked, man, my wife would cut em off!
