?4 the inwall guys

What do you put between the tank and the wall to seal the gap? Do you just push the tank up against the wall? I am getting close to this point and would appreciate the input!

I put a 2x4 infront of the tank so I had something to lean on and look at the tank. worked well for me...

Im going to push my tank flush to the drywall and build a picture frame around it.
Im planning on building a acrylic drip damb on the top of the tank and then adhere damb to the FRP on the inner side of the wall.
Hopefully that will prevent water from dripping down the face of the tank.

I used drywall mud to fill the entire gap in around the tank and put aquarium gravel, sand and shells into the mud to give a nice natural look around the tank. (pics are from its freshwater days right after it was built!)

Thanks for the replies guys! But I'm not talking about the viewable ledge. The wife had that figured out way before I even got close, lol. I am more concerned about the inside wall where the tank touches the wall. Like Sandyland said, "push it up against the drywall".

Everything is FRP in my fish room including the "window" where the tank goes. Should I just set the tank up against the FRP? No cushion between the two?

Also, my steal stand has bolts for adjustments. I have put felt pads(1/16") on the keep from scratching up the tile. Does anyone see a problem there?

I have always wondered about this.. To me it would make sense to have something sealing the "gap".

I've seen some local ones as well if you want it more "flush" is to build the stand into the wall so the tank can slide flush with the front side of the wall then just trim around it like a picture frame.
