So Im downgrading after having 125 for last 6 years. It was really hard decision. So I want too set up my new 40 breeder and I read a lot about different kinds of overflow system. This forum included. I decided to do " Bean Animal overflow" That required to drill 3 holes on back wall. Never done that before. I goess I was to exited and nervous at the same time. I drilled 3 -1" holes. But I think I screwed up :(. Do you think I drilled them to close to each other? I drilled 1 3/4 holes. The distance between each edge of the hole is 1 1/2". Is that ok or it is too close? O man Im so ****ed now. What was I thinking???? Now Im afraid that I messed up structure and glass won't be strong enough. Let me know, please. Is it my project done already.. And I need to buy new tank?

Im trying to post pics but it keep saying download failed :( It worked now. I will try to post again my drilled tank from previous post. Artur Socha Ok. I got my 20 gal. sump today. I will put of total 4 baffles. Im putting all this for you guys so you can help me. I'm looking for any suggestions or approvals . Latter I will post my plumbing parts. Also I still didn't decided about overflow, acrylic or glass…

I've been working on a similar setup. 40B with a C2C inside the tank. Its more of a durso than a bean and its working well. I have the sump and refug on the other side of the wall and recently put a water changing system in. Going at it slow and I just hit a month on my tank cycle so I have about 6 snails in there and 4 new frags as of yesterday.

Can you suggest how to do that C2C overflow, please. Did yo made it with glass? Just 2 pieces silicon together?

I used a 6" x 1/4" and a 4" x 1/4" pieces of glass. Was like 20 bucks from a glass shop. I had holes in my tank from a previous build so i used 2 -1" BH and a third for an emergency overflow. I used ones i bought off ebay. They are good for what I'm using them for.

Ok. Thanks. I hope it was only warning and you are ok. Did they glued those pieces together and then you glued them to the wall or you did it all with silicone? And what kind silicone? And last question length of those pieces for overflow should be like 1/4" smaller then inside length of aquarium"¦? I used a 6" x 1/4" and a 4" x 1/4" pieces of glass. I'm in the process of ordering glass pieces for my baffles for sump and overflow box 20x5x3 with 1/4" thick. Is that ok? Also top of the box (teeth less) will be even with bottom of top trim aquarium. Let me know if that's fine. And last one syphon and open channel elbows. What distance should from lowest point to bottom of box? Thanks again for all support.

I used single pane glass for my baffles. I believe it was 1/4'' thick. They seem to hold up fine!! Here's a pic of what I did with a 20L. Real similar to what you want. (1st chamber to 3rd; right to left)

Nice. Why those double panels on left side?. Do they help? I got only one there

I used a 20H for my sump. Half is for the skimmer and the other half for the return pump. I have a 10g refug higher than the sump and pump water to that with a tee in the return line and then gravity drains it back to the return section. Saw the design somewhere on RC.
