I am about to get a 40 breeder and make this into my sump. I have told many people tend to stay away from a fuge because its a detritus trap. Is this correct? Right now I have a 20 gallon long for my sump and have a fuge area. I just want to do it right.. My display tank is a 40 breeder if that matters. Thanks

I think the issue with a fuge becoming a detritus trap is when people feed the fuge directly from the tank drain and not from the return line. My sump has the tank draining into filter socks and then to the skimmer on the right. The return section is in the center. The fuge is on the left side and is fed from a tee off of the return line. Right now there is just sand and some live rock but I will be removing the live rock and replacing with some cheato.
