480 gallon DT in wall build

I posted last year about a 240g tank I was working on...long story short, we moved, and I got the approval from the wife to upgrade. I just bought a 480 gallon acrylic tank. Dimension: 104(L)x32(W)x36(H). The Display is 96(L) with an 8 inch overflow. The DT will be in a wall viewable from both sides.

The Questions start here...
1) I'm trying to figure out how best to build the stand. I have a friend that welds, he did the 240 stand for me. I'm not sure how thick to go. I'll post this question up in the "lets see those steel stands" thread. But if you have a stand around this size, or have experience, I'd love to hear it.

2) The tank has some scratches. I would like to get them buffed out. I've tried the Novus products along with wet sanding with little success on a spare sump. Does anyone have any contact info on companies or people that buff acrylic in Northern California-Manteca area? Preferably someone that does it on site.

Im still drawing up ideas for the wall. My cousin owns a construction business in Hawaii and will be helping me with the project. I still don't have an exact date on when he will be out here. I'm assuming sometime this summer. Here's to starting a new tank!

The wall that it's going in. I know I'll probably catch a lot of flack about the tank being too close to the Windows, but this was the only wife approved option. Looks like we will have some closed Windows!

Windows are not a concern unless you fail to maintain low pollution levels in your tank. Otherwise, natural light can be very beneficial for your inverts.

29clear: I believe there is someone in the bay area that does acrylic buffing. They post their ad on CL but not sure how good they are. What are you plans for the 240?
