<DD>I am thinking about making a refugium using a 5.5 gallon all glass tank. I am either going to use some indopacific aragalive I have left over or find some Southdown sand or something similar. It will not be a deep sand bed because this will be a low flow, slow moving water, fuge.
<DD>That being said I may need to make it medium flow to be able to house some of the plants and macro algae I would like to grow. This tank I actually plan to use as a decorative tank as much or more then functional. It will be part of a large system and I will have macro algae tumbling in another area. I am thinking about trying as many as the green things on this page as I can in this tank with exception to the chaeto which requires high flow. FYI I will likely be putting a “Mini Aqualight Double from ESU with one 9W 10,000K and one 9W True Actinic 03 blue lamp†above this tank. And eventually some LED night lights.
<DD> This tank will also be inhabited by a pair of Stenopus tenuirostris (purple or blue coral banded shrimp) I recently purchased. I was thinking low flow for them because I could then put a sponge before any overflows to help any possible youngsters I hope to see one day.
