Hey everyone! This post was on the main forum but this forum was recomended for my question. This is for anyone who has ever kept an octo. I have been planning on getting one but I'm having trouble finding a good tank. Here's a link to one I found on the PetSmart website, would this be a good one to start with for a bimac??

http://www.petsmart.com/global/prod...he link) Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Meh
55 is the consensus for having a nice comfortable octo home. But 50 is really close.
Your gonna want the skimmer to
And be VERY sure you know what kind of octopus your getting
several of the octopus species on the market can get WAY big

I was planning on getting a bimac from LiveAqueria.com. The tank supposedly comes with a wet/dry filter but I didn't know if it was reliable so I wanted to see if anyone else had used this tank. It seems good enough, the hood could be well secured (though I hear bimacs aren't as prone to escaping as others).

Don't plan on any sources for bimacs. Liveaquaria got theirs from a breeder that's now defunct. It also is illegal to collect bimacs for the commercial aquarium trade, so it is unlikely we'll see any wild caught animals for sale, either.
