5000k for Chaeto?

I bought a shoplight for my fuge planning on adding chaeto. Homedepot only had 5000k max screw in PC bulbs. Will this be ok for chaeto? I haven't been able to find a 6500k screw in that would be the best I guess?

thats what im running . just set it up this weekend . so no idea how good it is yet


somebody told me the lower the K the more things will grow

it will work fine. anything 2300-6700k is optimum for growing green plants/algae's

^^^ what Minibow Matt said. You should be fine with 5K lights for Cheato. Check www.melevsreef.com he posts here on RC and has his own web site. He runs a screw in light that he has a likn to on his page similar to the one you are talking about. Seems to do fine.
