6 Gallon Aquascape

Very new to the hobby, and so far aquascaping has been the most difficult part of the whole process.

Any thoughts or advice on what I have now?

Going to keep this tank pretty simple when it comes to stocking coral.

What are u using for filtration and lighting? For the scape, I would try to play around with it a little more, maybe take some of the rocks from the outside and stack them on the middle, or take a couple rocks from the middle and try to make 2 island formations.

For filtration I'm just running some Pura floss, and as far as lighting I'm running this custom made LED kit with Cree LEDs pushing 12,000K.

That's a good idea though, I think I'll try to break this formation into 2 to make things more interesting, and see where things go from there.

Check out this thread, its awesome for aquascaping advice.

Keep in mind that you not only want to create a pretty aquascape, but a functional one. Having a large pile of rocks will make it very easy for detritus to get trapped inside the structure. We call these trap places "dead zones" and will slowly become nitrate factories. You want to make sure that the water can flow through the entire structure so that things don't get trapped, but rather put into the water column so they can be filtered out.

Another issue I see with your rock is that its pretty solid. Good LR should be really porus (see Bulk Reef Supply's "Reefcleaners" rock), but I'm not saying yours wont work. If you're having trouble getting good shapes to work with, get a flathead screwdriver and a hammer and hit it at a few different angles to break off some pieces to get more interesting shapes.
