6-line is cut bad! help!

A few months ago my six line got himself cut on something that I don;t know and it slowly started to heal. well a few days ago it burst open again and i thought it would heal like always (he always gets himself scratched once in a while) but now his body is pale around the cut and there is white stuff in the cut. I really do not want to loose this fish, is there anything I can do?

what are your tank specs?......i.e. equipment that you run...could this be powerheads...is it a reef setting and whom is his co-inhabitants?
best thing to do at the moment is set up a hospital tank and treat for bacterial infections if you run a reef..

White stuff on or in the wound sounds like a fungal infection but is more commonly the bacteria Flexibacter columnaris- this can very quickly overtake a fish's immune system. Isolate and treat quickly with an antibiotic (Maracyn One and Two in combination will treat the Flexibacter and help prevent secondary infections).
