6-lined wrasse nipping at pocilapora?

My 8 year old daughter wanted one of these for our 90 reef. I gave in and got her one. I have had them before over the years and they have been no problem.

This one seems to like to nip at my large pocilapora colony? I am hoping he will settle down and find something else to eat he likes better.

Anyone else have problems with these fish?

Thanks

Andrew

i wish mine would eat pocillipora... i have little poci's sprouting up all over the tank :(

Mine actually nips at my seriatopa from time to time; and only that. Doesn't seem to bother it all that much.

He probably thinks there is something good to eat on it. I noticed mine would steal chunks of food that my coral had cought, but not eat the accual coral.

Just a warning, watch any fish you add after this guy, I just had to tear down my entire tank to get mine out because he would not accept any new fish.

i can second what whiskey said about the aggressive part of the 6 line.

but my 6 line never nips at anything coral wise

If you guys see your sixline nipping at your corals you should consider getting yourself tropic Marin Pro Cure and dipping a few pieces. You can't see Acro flatworms on the coral. (especially if the coral shows recession)

That is the first thing I did :D, nothing came off. Upon further inspection it seems the corals pylops are capeable of grabbing decent size peices of food when I feed the tank, and the 6-line was stealing them.

wow. thought i was the only one with a psycho 6-line. He only picks at the seriatapora, both colonies, each colony 10 inches away from the other colony.

But it usually occurs only after feeding, and the seriatapora seems to almost ignore the nipping now.

My 6-line ripped a good acro crab out of my new acro proceded to beat it to death and rip leggs off. I was Ticked!

You are not the only one with a psyco 6-line.
