Hello All -

We have always enjoyed this fish tank in our home and we hope that someone else will now enjoy it as much as we have. This is a very impressively sized tank and you will enjoy showing it off to your family and friends. This tank is currently up and running as a fish only tank with some live rock and decorative corals, and it is functioning as it should. Plug and play as it sometimes is referred to except without Microsoft getting some type of kickback. I can tell you that from my personal experiences that, bigger tanks once there set up are much easier to care for then smaller ones.

The tank is currently set-up as a saltwater fish tank but could be a freshwater tank or with some modification to the canopy it could be a huge reef tank. There is more then enough space in the base cabinet to add additional equipment such as a large sump & protein skimmers and still have room for storage of everything else.

Unfortunately we all have to make choices in our lives and as some of you may or may not know we are adopting two little girls. The cost to do this has increased unexpectedly as of May 1st so, we basically have been selling almost every luxury item of value that isn’t nailed down or needed to maintain a reasonable household. We also live in a very small house in the historic area near downtown Phoenix and this is a very large tank.

This setup includes the following:

600 gal (535 actual gal) Tenecor acrylic tank (96L x 48W x 30H)

Stand & matching canopy

Built-in dual wet dry filters w/ internal return pumps which could be used as overflows

Then I added:

2 @ 40wt UV sterilizers - nearly new bulbs

2 @ little giant 4 md closed loop pumps

2 @ ocean clear canister filter

3 @ 2 bulb ea. flour ballasts with 4 coralife 10k, 20k & Actinic bulbs (6 bulbs total)

The contents (deco coral, base rock) of the tank are not part of the sale but may be negotiable, they have to been seen in person to really appreciate there beauty and size. The extremely large coral skeletons were also collected far in advance to the Cities treaty or before most people had an idea of how delicate the world’s oceans really are. This option would also be more favorable to someone wanting to make this tank into a reef or simply has no desire for coral skeletons or the desire pay for them. There is no major and very few very minor scratches in the tank, there are a few correctable paint chips in the stand and scratchs to the top of the canopy which can't been seen unless your over 6ft tall. The paint is still available at any Frazee paint store and I might still have some touch up paint from when it was purchased. You are more then welcome to transfer the water if you have enough buckets.

The tank was over $10k new after adding the dual UV's, coralife lighting, closed loop pumps and ocean clear filter and plumbing.

This is a very well built aquarium and stand, it is also very heavy. You will need strong people to help move this monster. I'm sure if it's planned correctly we can get a moving party together with fellow RC members on some weekend or night and I can cook some dogs on the grill and provide some soda pop & beer......once it loaded on your two trucks or a large trailer.

I will miss the tank, it has always been a source of entertainment and delight. Coming home from a long day at work and sitting in front of this tank has always been a great stress reliever for me but, our current adoption goal and providing a loving home for the two girls is just far more important in material possessions at this point in our lives.

I am gone most weekends so, if you have questions during the weekend you may not get an answer until Monday. Thx, Norm

Please refer to an earlier post for some pictures as I still haven’t figured how to post them or send me a PM with your email and I’ll forward them to you.

I am potentially willing to work with fellow reefers on a payment plan if needed but, if you don't have some deposit money at the time of the agreement then you should wait to contact me until you do. Please check with your spouse, mother, roomie, etc before purchasing the tank as some people don't like surprizes . I also reccomend taking making tape and laying out a 4ft x 8ft outline on your own floor so that you can better visulize the space as a big tank like this takes up alot of room. I don't mean to sound harsh but, my free time is very limited and these are things that you should take into consideration.

Send me your e-mail for additional pictures

$3000.00 obo Thx, Norm

Surely you mean $3000.00, not $300!! :)

If that tank was $300, I'll be there with a truck tonight, lol.

I would love to have this tank, it would fit in my house, but I just dont knwo if were moving or not yet. Man what a steal! Free bump.

Wow. This would be the PERFECT in-wall tank. I can't imagine having 4ft of depth! If we didn't need our savings for a down payment and/or closing costs.......

Satori - good luck on the new home, hopefully your loan is locked in as with all these loan companies closing or cutting back it may make it difficult fo some people in the future to get a loan.

I would buy this in a heartbeat if I had room to store it. I am planning to upgrade houses in the next year or two and just think I have to wait. Dang it!

Yes the tank is still for sale, I'm very surprised it hasn't sold as I think it is priced reasonably but, it's a very large tank and that may be a little intimidating to some.

Thanks for your interest, Norm

Ryan I figured that you might be crazy enough, maybe you could use it as a tall bed frame and just throw your mattress on top of it :)

I would love the tank. My house is big enough but I still need to find a place for it. Got to talk to my significant others about it though. That is my first problem.

The second is the cost to turn it into a reef: I think I will start another thread to get some ideas so I don't hijack this one.
