600gal Reef Tank build in NE Ohio

I enjoy watching tanks develop that are different. I love how this is located...one side low the other normal. Keep us update!

Great work on the stand. I like the steel/wood combo.

Thanks guys. I've had this tank in mind for a decade or so and knew it would be a showstopper where I put it. So glad for good friends who have the ability to think up the stand design AND create / assemble it.

Filling it is slow. I can get 160gallons every couple days made up. Makes me a bit nervous filling it too.....sooo much weight. Even after its filled I imagine a month or so to cycle and complete the drains / returns into the basement and back. It'll be worth the effort and time though! :bounce1:

Why are you waiting to fill the tank before finishing the plumbing? What more do you have to do?

I'm going to fill it about 3/4 of the way as I work on plumbing and a lighting fixture. Hoping that by the time I get those things done the tank will have cycled and be ready to fill with the good stuff. My Unicorn Tang is huge and is dying to get into his new home. =)

Good luck with your build. I actually just picked up a tank w the same size.

In the process of refurbishing the tank, figuring out stand, flow, drain.
