60G Cube Build - Idea's

Hey All,

I wanted to see what some may have done with a 60G cube tank as I am not sure I will have the space to do everything I want. (This tank will eventually replace my current Soft/LPS RedSea Max 130D tank)

Here are some of the things I had wanted to do:
- Likely Drilled w/sump
- Custom built stand (I want to give it a try - if anyone has something they did that worked I would be interested in seeing it)
- ATO (Has anyone done this on this size tank while keeping it underneath the tank?)
- Sump
- Looking to keep if very lightly stocked w/Hard Coral

Yeah I had the same issue, I had to use a 20 tall under mine it is tight.

If you can afford it get a Starfire glass one. I have the marineland rimless and regret it a bit. It works fine. The glass is thin and not as clear as I would like.

I gave a smaller tank a look today and wanted to see if you have any opinions. It was a JBJ 45G Rimless (think Redsea here) that had the filtration built into the back. It appeared to have more room than my Redsea 130D for a skimmer and it included AI Prime lighting.

Would this lighting be up to snuff to keep SPS coral? (Would it be overkill to use 2 of these lighting units on a tank this small?) What skimmer would be recommended in a tank like this? (Perhaps a Tunze)

I have a 60 cube and agree space is at a premium. I do have an ATO underneath though. The reservoir is small only 2.5 gallons.

Loved my 60 cube... Here's the sump I had built to fit snugly in the cabinet beneath. The dimensions were 24x24x19 and the ato chamber actually held almost 7 gallons.
