Are there any companies that make worthy glass reef ready tanks in either of these dimensions or close to it? Most important is depth front to back...

Anyone have any suggestions on decent priced 30" deep tanks (front to back)

Anyone? :)

Trying to avoid custom...

Mine is 72x24x24 from glasscages.com. They are the low budget tank source, but I haven't had any problems with it. Lots of pictures in my thread (click the red house). Also, they will be in Tampa 3/11 and 3/12 so you could save a lot on shipping if you drive over there and pick it up from their trucks.

Personally, after having a 24" deep tank, I would not want to go to 30" deep. It would be a lot more difficult to reach to the bottom of the tank, even with a dsb. It would look good though I'm sure, if you are willing to deal with the difficult access and added lighting costs.

THanks for the info about glass cages being in Tampa in March... that would save a bunch of money if I could pick it up. You haven't had any problems with your tank, but what is your perception of the quality of your tank... is it a tank you could use for years you think?

I have heard mostly good cocmments but some questionable comments about glass cages... but then again, reefcentral is very much like that, one person has a bad experience and then people repeat that again and again and it then seems like lots of people have trouble..

EDIT --

rdmpe - after reading your thread about your tank from glasscages I'm happy to have made this post.. their 72 x 30 x 31 sounds perfect (290). I understand your point about the height being inconvenient, I've had my 24" deep tank for about 4 years now and my thought process on going taller is if I don't do it I know I'll regret it. Not being able to reach the bottom easy isn't an important issue to me... and the lighting issue isn't a problem, granted sure I'd like to not spend $$ on more lighting... but I'm planning on 400w'ers along with my existing 250's plus vho actinics. Ultimately I plan to stick with what I've had for years, softies and LPS, and they'll be fine under that lighting.

the prices are very good how is the quality?Your tank looks nice from what I see I would like a similar set up.My tank is 36 deep I have to stand on a small ladder to go to the bottom(step stool)

The tank is built rock solid. They use a eurobrace style ring around the bottom as well as the top. They say that this makes the bottom-to-side joints much much stronger. Personally, I'm very happy with it. The down side to me is the cheap plastic trim that they use and some sloppy silicone around the top bracing that I had to razor blade off. Minor issues considering the $$ involved for me personally.

from what I saw the price is right. You got a nice tank for the money.I am sure you can live with the plastic.I can sujjest that you make a molding out of PVC moldings that you find in harware stores.I used this type of molding inside my shower. They are white but you can paint them blck or some other colour and silicone it to your brace. This will cover your original molding and give the tank a nicer look.
