6201 just twitching???

i just got these 2 6201 pumps and a 7095 multi controller 3 weeks ago from reef speacilty and i recognized a film build up on the top of the water in my 300 gallon tank at the left side put my hand in the water and the thing isnt even worken. unplugged it took the propeler out and was clean all looks good but it just twitches to the right one twitch and does it maybe every 20 seconds. so i unplugged it and pulled the propeler out again and it is HOT. whats the deal??? i have been told these things are the best. i just sent a 6100 out this morning that i was borrowing from doubledown. that one the silver box was sounding an alarm. what can i do??

More than likely you have a defective motor block. The best thing to do is to send it in and have us look at it. They have a two year warranty so you are covered. The address that you need to send you pump to is:

Please include the black transformer as well as a note with your return address and a description of the problem.
