65 Gallon Stocking?

Hi guys! New here, so go easy on me :)

I'll be getting 3 new aquariums soon - although at different times, there will be a 90 gallon, a 65 gallon, and a custom aquarium somewhere between the 300 gallon and 900 gallon class - not sure yet. I'm here for the 90 gallon reef (the other ones will be an octopus tank and a larger FO). I've had experience before, but I recently got back into the hobby after I got out of college and got a job and a house.

So far, my plans for the tank are this:
  • Mostly plating montipora and zoanthids, with some staghorn acropora and maybe a few mushrooms
  • At least one maxima clam (maybe a green and a blue one)
  • Blue linckia starfish
  • Some cerith snails, turbo snails, and electric blue hermits for a CUC
  • Some cool shrimp (maybe coral banded?)
  • Either 3 or 5 banggai cardinals
  • A normal and black snowflake clownfish (will these guys use a carpet anemone?)
  • Green clown goby
  • Longnose hawkfish (yes I realize the ceriths might be dead from that)
  • Valentini Puffer
  • Firefish
  • Would a orange/yellow seahorse do well in this tank? I assume not
  • Christmas wrasse
  • I have toyed with the idea of a mandarin dragonet in the system among others, but I feel it would be outcompeted for food, and I don't want to have to spend too much on copepods; (anyone but the tang police:strange:) will a yellow tang be able to live its live comfortably in a 90 gallon?

I have to find the list of equipment I will be purchasing for this tank - it's somewhere around here...

For this setup, I plan on buying:

-90 Gallon reef ready glass aquarium (1 overflow) w/ the faux wood trim (48x18x24); I'm going to keep a christmas wrasse so I'll get a cover for the overflow and the tank itself
-I plan on using black rust-o-leum to paint the back wall of the tank
-I am not sure if I want to build a stand or shop around, but I will likely build one
-Six-stage RO/DI unit (150 gpd) from the filter guys
-I'm going to aquascape with 100 pounds of Fiji live rock (not base rock)
-I'll also use around 40 pounds of Caribsea live aragonite
-Should I buy or build a sump? So far I am hooked on buying one from big apple herp for $430, and it's a 45 gallon sump. Or would it be easier to just build it?
-Some 100-micron filter pads for the drip section of the sump
-Eheim 1262 return pump
-An ASM G-1X in-sump skimmer
-BRS Deluxe Carbon and GFO reactor w/ BRS high capacity GFO media
-(3) Aquatop 3170 gph powerheads
-(2) 6" clip-on fans (one at canopy to keep lights cooled off and tank, and one over the sump to chill that during heat waves)
-A envirogro T5 light fixture, 4 bulb
-(2) ATI-Blue+ bulbs
-KZ fiji purple/ATI purple+ bulb (plan on switching these out every time the bulbs get replaced)
-KZ new generation 14K
-32 gallon Rubbermaid Brute trash can for water changes and such
-Not sure what to do for dosing - any recommendations? (if I'm not wrong, I need to dose something for alkalinity, calcium, potassium, and magnesium - I'm not sure about this though)

So far, the cost of this is around $2,400 for the tank and equipment assuming I build a stand and a canopy, and another $775 for corals (assuming I get 8x 1" plating monti frags, 5 medium sized colonies of zoanthids, and one medium sized staghorn acropora). Livestock (without the mandarin or seahorse, but with the tang) is going to be around $585. So all in all, we're looking at a grand total of around $3,750 for this 90 gallon reef, and around 4 grand once dosing, additives, food, etc is added in. Thoughts?

seahorse- no

mandarin- no

yellow tang- i wouldnt do it, but if you really want to...

everything else- yes

There is a good chance the valentini puffer will go to town on all the CUC and the shrimp. We had one or a few days that ate all the snails it could find and was removed when it tried to take out the cleaner shrimp.

The christmas wrasse may be a problem too for the CUC and shirmp. That will depend on the individual fish's personality. I would be more worried about these two than the longnose hawkfish eating your ceriths (mine leaves all the snails/hermit crabs alone).

I also agree with jraker.
