Introducing my 3rd tank build whch is a 65g Oceanic Sapphire tank with sump. Got a good deal at a LFS along with live rock and live sand which was included. Right now it's cycling and soon my T5 lighting will arrive. I will be using a Nova Extreme Pro 6 lamp so that I may grow a mix of LPS and some SPS. This is my first tank with a bottom sump and I will be adding a refugium. Can anyone tell me if I should replace the box filled with filter pads with a filter sock, or is it the same thing. So far tank is looking awesome and cant wait to start introducing fish and corals.

Stand is cheaply built. When pushing the doors closed, the whole tank shakes. I'm adding some L brackets to make it more stable.

I have to admit I like the stand too. I think all of us really like it! I also like your rimless tank! Will be tagging along as I have been considering setting up a 65 myself.

You should replace the pads with a filter sock. Buy a few so you can change them as needed and wash a few at a time.

I agree..go with the sock. easier to clean and change. very sweet tank/sump combo
Thanks, I think i'll purchase a few socks and take out the box. My next plan would then add a few baffles and build a refugium, pretty much modeling the ADHI refugium sump 20. Really like the simplicty of this sump since all I have to work with is 24 inches. Then i'll add a skimmer to the far left where the water flows in. Anyone know of a good skimmer that will fit into this small sump or should I just go with a HOB skimmer? I still have my Aqua C Remora but would like to consider a more reliable piece of equipment.

I didn't know that OC made rimless tank. does it come in 120 G?

Nice Tank by the way.
Not yet, this is there so called beta tank that has not been release as of yet. This same exact tank was displayed at the Marin Aqurium Expo here California a few weeks ago. I just so happen to stumble across it at my LFS and all the LR and LS was included. At the show both this tank and the Red Sea Max 250 were displayed across from each other and I was close to buying the RSM, but saw this tank and did some searching for this Oceanic tank on when it will be on sale but nothing, until I saw it at a fish store and bought it in a heart beat. Also comes with 2 year warranty so I'm happy with it.
