65w or 96w for a 10g?

I love my 96 watt coralife quad fixture. Its not in use at the moment because I have upgraded my tank, but I was very satisfied with it. I used it over an 18 gallon tall (same footprint as a standard 10g, but taller. It got plenty of light to all areas of the tank.

I did do a "mod" to it. The crappy fans they included were loud and buzzy so I removed them and epoxied an old computer fan (80mm) to the top. I got a lot more airflow and a lot less noise. Also, the power connectors inside the fixture for the original fans hooked right up to the PC fans connector!

I highly recommend the quad, you should be able to keep anything in a 10 gallon with that light.

I also like the 96w Quad. I have it on my 10 along w/ the Aqualight Lunar Blue-Moon-Glow. I've heard that corals use temp, tides, and lunar cycles to spawn but I have my moonlight on there just because it looks cool. As mentioned above the fans that come w/ the fixture are loud.

96w for sure. i think moonlight is just for YOU(the reefer). you get to see your corals glow. i removed my moonlight when i retrofitted my 12 gallon aquapod. My corals and fish dont even know it's missing =]

i would go with a 2 x 40w satellite or orbit as they appear to be much more efficient. look at the difference in the reflectors.

again on the moonlight, I don't think it has much use for the corals. Although one sly salesman tried to convince me otherwise. Cheap LED's work the same IMO.

If you're willing to put up the $$$ always (almost) get the higher wattage.
