WOOHOO... Somehow my Principal decided that she no longer wanted a 70g empty RR tank in her office SO, she said I could have it in my classroom if I give her the 29g fresh tank I have.
Since the tank is in my room I will be using personal funds to get this bad boy going. Since my salt donor and other funding fell through this year I have not been able to get it running as the predator tank I had planned this summer.
I cleaned the tank yesterday, started filling it with R/O water, and pulled the 4 55w CP bulbs out. I will swing by the CR today to see what bulbs they have in stock and order more if I have to.
I should have enough salt laying around my house to at least get water mixed, warmed to proper temperature, and toss the LR that has been curing in a trashcan all summer!
After enough time to make sure a cycle will be done I will start purchasing fish slowly. Still liking the lionfish, puffer ideas...
Just happy/excited to get this going and I know my students were googly-eyed when they came in and found the tank in the room yesterday morning!
