70g Tech Tank Wobbly

Hey all, I am freaking out here!!

I have been filling my tank and its about 75%full(middle overflow box is empty) Im going to run everything with RODI and make sure Everything is working correctly.

My 29g is in the stand but empty.

It is on a carpeted floor and seems very flimsy. At 75%full it is very flimsy and i can make it sway if i push on the tank ever so slightly.

Has anyone else had this issue. It almost seems like its leaning forward a tad, but I took a level to it, and everything shows level. Im paranoid now since its in my family room in my new house.

Will this change once my LR,LS and sump is full of water sand and rock?

I just looked again, at the bottom base of the tank it is about 1.5 inches from the wall, at the top it is almost 2" away. I guess it could be the floor. Im not sure, but I guess now I have to empty the water out.

I had the same problem with a 90 I had set up, I ended up having to add supports to the crossbeams below my tank, before I braced it even my dog running by the tank would cause it to sway...

Just be glad you noticed it now and not after a disaster. It's better to fix it now by adding additional support and/or figuring out the problem. Adding the lr & ls is not the solution. It should be rock solid.

I moved it to a spot with hardwood and where it is perpendicular to the joists, not parallel.

I will refill and check.
