75 on second floor?

Im getting ready to set up my 75 AGA and have run into an issue. I have it currently oriented so that it is parallel to the floor supports. This is the way it works best but I'm concerned about the weight being to much. I can orient it so that it's perpendicular to the supports, but it looks horrible.

My question is, would a full 75gal plus sump be too much to have sitting parallel? What do you guys think?

IMO No it wouldn't. I currently have my setup on a second floor with the tank oriented parallel to the supports. Check out my current tanks list below and you will see that i have alot of weight.

Make sure that your tank is level with a leveler. You made need to shim it up in spots. You can buy shims at lowe's or home depot

Any other opinions? Also, it's on a load bearing wall in an apartment, so I assume it's pretty strong.

Ursus,

I had the same concerns as you did because i am also in an apartment unti i went to my LFS owners house where he had a 220g on the second floor. That was reassurance enough for me.

The only bad part is dragging all of your equipment, LR, LS up those steps!

Same thing 90 gal on 2nd floor up against load bearing wall. Everything has been fine for a year now. Perp though not parallel
