75g fish tank. Custom coast 2 coast overflow. Drilled for BeanAnimal overflow. Custom stand built to hold the weight of a small car. None of that Pet Smart crap here. This tank is to be enjoyed by a true enthusiast!!
The tank itself has only seen water for a week of water testing on the stand. There are no scratches nor scrapes. It has a build up of dust as this project has been put on hold for a while. The back is already painted black with Rust-o-eume latex paint as it's easy to remove with a razor if needed.
It's hard to see from my crappy phone pics, but the stand is stained with a dark wood stain that was covered with several coats of clear acrylic. So, you can still see the wood grain, but no water nor humidity will penetrate it. The interior of the stand was first coated with 5 coats of Killz mildew resistant primer. Then 5 coats of Rust-o-eume high gloss white paint. This paint repels water and the color reflects light in case you wanna use a refugium or quarantine tank in the stand. I've also coated all corners and seams So in a nutshell this stand is waterproof if you were to get a leak inside of the stand. I've also made the doors to slide open rather than swing open. It's a very nice feature to access anything in the stand.
I'll toss in 15' of 1" PVC and 15' of 1 1\2" of PVC to help finish the plumbing. Plus some PVC primer and cement.
