Hello,

I started up this new tank approx. 4 mos ago and am looking for feedback. I am adding a GEO kalk reactor as we speak b/c I am already tired of manually dosing (alot more work than my nano).

Only issue I am having is some hair algae but this may due to a lack of calcium (thus the kalk reactor) as I am also running a phosphate reactor.

Please feel free to critique, make suggestions, questions or etc. Also please feel free to mention anything I should know about having a larger tank.

Thank you!

Looks like the tank is off to a good start. The kalk reactor is a great idea.
Hair algea is definitely caused from to much phosphate.

Are you using RO water for all evaporation replacement? What kind of PO4 media are you using? The hair algea might just be caused by the fact that the tank is new, in which case it will probably go away on it's own.

Thanks for the feedback.

I am using PURA Phoslock as my media and yes I am using RODI for my top-off water.

As of this evening, the top-off water will be my RODI unit connected directly to my kalk reactor with a dosing pump and all necessary shut-off valves in between for the RODI unit. Hopefully this will help.

Thanks again!
