75g to 125g

like the title says im switching from my 75 to a 125 i just got, it wont have a sump on it until i can switch it over, as my plan is to use the 75. i was wondering if this would work. i would move everthing over to the new tank and over a day or two slowley add the extra 50 gallons? i was thinking of using small hose siphoning new water and draining into the powerhead to mix it better. will this work ok or shock everything even if the salinity as bang on?

As long as you match the params you'll be fine. Its just like doing a lrg waterchange.

Shouldn't be too big of a deal. That is basically how I did mine. What I would do in your case, get the new tank in place with the new water, 50 gallons or so. Then do a 10 gallon water change every day between the new water and the old water. Eventually all of the water in both tanks will be the exact same, then you can just start transfering over to the new tank. You can also mix the sand in a similar fasion bewteen the two.

ok well i think im just going to put all fish and coral into a rubbermaid then transfer the old water then rock and the rest. then ill ad the rest of the water over the rest of the day

It won't hurt as long as the temperature, specific gravity, and pH match that of the tank water.

well its bin over a week and havent lost anything. ill post some pics tonight , takes a bit cause i have to upload them to my ps3 which is what ive been using as my computer for the last year
