8.1 to 7.8 PG swing

Hi guys,

It's a 0.3 PH swing daily acceptable for an LPS tank? For the past week I am seeing a variation from 8.1 at around 10 pm when my lights are turned off to a low level of 7.8 right before lights go on next morning 9am. I do run a refugium with lights opposite to main tank. From what I have read PH decrease overnight are expected so my main doubt is whether or not 0.3 variation would have a significant impact to the corals.

System is 45 Gallon
Alkalinity is stable at 130 ppm (I am thinking on running kalk on my TO water)

thats normal, LPS dont mind it much.

Do you have forced air heating and is the heating on? that causes a slight drop in Ph also

I do have the heating on at night, that is a good input, I am going to turn it off for a week and track the difference.

Agreed. And, I would expect that kinda swing if the tank is full of corals
