I have been contemplating upgrading to a 90 gal megaflow and add a sump i am tired of stuff all over my tank and space and quality! I have a tunze 9010 that i can't use b/c it is too large for my tank ...so my question is what lighting? if i want to keep sps
will the current usa 2x150 2x130 work? please let me know
:(

I agree. Due to the depth of the tank, you'll have to pay attention to SPS placement with 150w. I use 2x250w on my 90 and get pretty penetration even with 14k bulbs.

I have the Coralife Aqualight Pro Retrofit Kit 2x150W 10000K HQI MH
2x96W Actinic 03 PC 4X1W Moonlights

Heres a pic of mine so far:

You can check out the pics in my gallery. All of those were taken over the course of the past 3 years when I ran 2, 175 watt metal halides. I just recently changed to 2, 250 watt halides.

So why the change you ask? The 175's did great. I'm hoping the 250's will bring out even more color.

By the Way: If I had to do it again, I'd have a 120 gallon instead of the 90. I would absolutely love to have that extra 6" of "beach" area to put things.

I am going through the same thing, but I think I decided on 2x250mh and 2 pc(blue ones..). Just trying to find the right set up.

I use 2x250 20k on my 90gallon bow front, better growth for sure with the 10k bulbs, but I just love the blueish look with 20k's :)

I am going with 2 x 400 watt metal halides w/ 14k bulbs.

I got a coralvue setup w/ electronic ballast from ebay for 218 shipped. Fired up perfect when I tested it in the garage..

Is that on a 90g, you'll fry the tank if you don't buy a very large chiller.

Do you really think so Michael? I guess I should have been more specific in my description.

My plan is:

400 watts one side for 4 hours

400 watts the other side for 4 hours

800 on in the evening for 3 hours when the family is home..for an 11 hour light period

Still too much?
