9010 First Clean

I just finished cleaning my 9010 for the first time and i was wondering how long until the foam rises and starts skimming again.

After a good cleaning mine usually will start producing in about 2 hours. makes alot of difference in the skimming ability of the 9010 when it's dirty versus clean.

one thing i've noticed to do when cleaning the cup is turn the skimmer off before removing the cup, if you dont, alot of times bubbles will get into the part where the screw goes in and do down into the airline when the pump pulls air, then it dries and seems to build up around where the airline connects to the bushing at the pump, and I'm sure it probably has an effect on the amount of air it can pull.

Unfortunately I chickened out pulling apart the pump inside since I could not figure out how to so only cleaned the inside housing and what I could reach.

How do you take apart the pump safely and what do you clean yours with? I have no backup skimmer and am afraid of bringing the skimmer down.

just pops those 2 little moon shaped clips off of the side then twist it off like any other pump does.

Make sure you clean the air inlet part real good with a pipe cleaner, take the impeller out and clean it real good.
