93 Gallon Stock List Questions

So I originally bought my 93 gallon cube for a FOWLE setup but then converted it into a nps gorgonian tank. With the heavy feedings my tank crashed and I had to start from scratch. I then tried my hand at an lps/sps tank that quickly turned inti a disaster from an algae outbreak with the increased lighting and high nutrients. I now have the parameters under control and have had them stable for 3 months. After all that I now want to get back to a simile FO system that I don't have doesn't require the constant vigilance of parameters like a nps setup, or sps setup. I am in the process of selling off my last corals and have started to come up with a stock list.

So after that long winded speech, here my stick list

-1 Radiata Lionfish
-1 Dragon Moray Eel
-1 Comet
-1 Giant Frogfish
-1 Picasso Triggerfish
-1 Dog Faced Puffer
-1 Yellow Tang

What do you guys think?

If I remember correctly, the marineland 93g has a footprint of 30" x 30", which will limit your fish choice to small ones. I think every fish on your list, except for the frogfish, is too big for a 30" long tank. Think of your tank as a typical 29g tank but just wider. It only offer enough "straight-swimming" distance of a 29g and unsuitable for most fish that grow bigger than 4-5".

You will be better off staying with fish like clownfish, firefish, gobies, anglers, etc.

Triggerfish and lionfish do NOT go together.

Puffers and lionfish do NOT go together.

You could add a dwarf lion and ditch the trigger and puffer perhaps imo.

Not sure about the rest of your list. Sorry.

Goodluck!

+1 to these guys I would skip the eel or replace it with a golden dwarf moray and I would skip the tang trigger and puffer. Every thing else looks good thoug

Is the 93 cube infact 30 by 30? if so i would redo the list. The only fish that would probably be happy on that list is the comet and he will hide all day.

- The Picasso Trigger and the Dog Faced Puffer will get to big for your system, and isn't there a sticky at the top of this forum saying that mixing puffers and triggers is a no-no?
- Many will argue that the tank size and shape is inappropriate for a Yellow Tang and I would agree.
- Also, I am shocked no one has said NO to the "Giant Frogfish." These guys are not community fish at all, one poster on here had one eat a fish 1.5x its size and then die the next day. They will eat anything that will fit in their over-sized mouths given the opportunity. If you want one, you need to set up a species tank.

So that would leave the Comet (I see mine all the time BTW), the radiata lionfish, and the eel. I know nothing about eels, so no help there. If you really want a tang, you could probably get a bristletooth tang, but I do not know how that would go with the lionfish.
