Ok i bought a baby maroon from petco because they had a sale on them at the time. Well that was about 5-6 months ago. Well it is getting bigger now and over the last few weeks i have noticed that it is getting darker and that the stripes are turning yellow. At first i thought i was seeing things but after asking my wife and seeing the middle stripe to start turning yellow as well i have come to the conclusion that what i thought was a regular maroon turns out to be a gold stripe. I wouldn't try this twice but just thought i would share my rare and good luck with petco.

You can really luck at Petco and not just with the fish. And not all of them are that terrible. There's a decent one here on the island.
