A couple questions...

For Richard or anyone else that knows.
What type of cucumbers are the ones that Richard sends with part 2? Had a reefer come over and check out my tank and he's curious as to what the cucks are called. Thanks!

Also....while scoping out possible fish for my tank... I've come across several that say to add to *Well established* tanks only.

I'm curious.....when we get real live rock and real live sand from Richard... once our tank is cycled, wouldn't it be well established?

I mean the rock and sand are obviously not fresh and new like startingwith dry base rock and dry sand from a LFS. So could I consider my tank *well established or not?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

From what I have read a newly set up tank needs a year or so to stabilize. I waited 3 months before I added any fish outside what came with my package. Looking back I think that may have been a mistake. The blenny got so big and bossy that when I introduced my blue reef chromis the blenny had an absolute fit. It picked on them all constantly for several days.

What fish are you wanting to introduce? Are they known to be "hard to keep?" You have alot of experience with keeping fish. With your experience you will probably be okay no matter what you decide.

Well nothing specific at this point, just wondered on the *established* part. I'm thinking of adding just a few smaller fish as this is only a 67 gallon tank. blennies....gobies...smaller wrasses, perhaps firefish.
But the ones I've seen that say an established system, aren't really hard to keep per se, but need a good crop of algae, or prefer pods, etc. At least that's my belief.

Perhaps I'm jumping the gun by thinking I can add a couple fish this month? I only installed part 2 of the package two weeks ago. Tank levels are stable however.

By the way.... do you know what type cucumbers Richard sends with part 2?

If you are having no swings in your parameters that sounds established to me. But gosh you have alot of fish experience. You probably should QT them before putting in the solana though.

The cucumbers are Tiger Tail cucumbers.

Oh I agree! I have an old 15 gallon tank that's been set up and running < bare bottom> but with a couple small pieces of LR, a few snails, etc that I use as a QT.

Tiger tails! Thank you.
