i've been using prodibio for about 8 weeks now and i can tell a difference for sure. more coral growth and less algae.

i had slightly high nitrates but i ran a phosban reactor that took care of the phosphates.

i feed a lot. so the prodibio has taken up the slack of my over feeding.

i was having to scrape the glass every day or every other day, now it's once a week or so. plus coraline algae is booming.

That is a beautiful tank... does prodibio buffer the calciumor what does it do?

i dose all of the prodibio stuff. from the strontium and iodine suppliments to the bacteria and reef booster which is a coral "food" (amino acids i believe).

i didn't think it would work but i am seeing great results. chris at kermits talked me into trying it out.

Joey,
I'm glad you're having success. The coral look great. I've avoided Prodibio and similar products because of the very high cost, and I'm unconvinced about the effectiveness or necessity of some of the additives. For example, there's no data that anyone's ever published linking iodine and strontium supplementation to enhanced coral growth. I used to monitor I and Sr but found that a 10% monthly water change kept them within acceptable ranges, so I don't even test for them anymore. (that alone tells me they're not being heavily metabolized). I do add iron (along with the calcium, carbonate and magnesium) but only to stimulate growth of the chaetomorpha in my refugium... the chaeto and phosban keep my NO3 and PO4 at zero. I wonder how your algal growth problem would have done with just the phosban reactor.

Thanks for the pics.

i had been running rowaphos for 6 months or so. it helped but i think the bioptim and biodigest really took care of the algae.

yeah, i've read about the strontium and iodine, but i bought a "reef pack" of the stuff just to try it all out. in the future i think i will just stick with the bacteria and the aminos.

i used selcon every other week or so.

i know, it sounds like snake oil, but this stuff has done a great job on my tank so far. prodibio, works for me.

Prodibio Reef Booster does excellent for my SPS corals. I also use the BIOCLEAN with great results. I can definitely tell a difference in my SPS PE when I started using REEF BOOSTER. It is some good stuff. It took both my Phosban reactor and the bioclean to get mine to where the algae was under control. The stuff works and I am usually hard to please when it comes to that kind of products.

If those pictures are with the same camera at the same settings and the tank has the same lighting, wow, I certainly see a vast improvement.

I know of a number of people using it and so far all the feedback has been very favorable. Favorable as in the reduction/elimination of algae and or cyanobacteria and the improved appearance / coloration of their corals without having to reduce or alter their feeding regimens.

Some people just use the Biodigest and some the Bioclean (Biodigest and Bioptim) and others use different combinations to meet their needs.

As it is a bacterial driven method no UV or Ozone can be used and you need to have good protein skimming.

same camera. i did change to 250w xm 10k's 6 months ago, but i'm sure i've posted photos since then.

and the bubble master 200 i put on the thing is kicking butt skimming these days.
