A few Kalk ?'s

I currently have a system with total water volume of about 350 gal. I have a 29 gal tank that I am using with a kent float valve for my ATO. I am looking at getting the BRS 50mL dosing pump (my tank evaporates about 2.3 gal a day). Would that pump handle that much on off time/per day? Also would that be to much Kalk added to the tank in one day? Another questions I have is currently my RKL reads a pH of 8.38 I have never seen it drop lower than 8.24, will adding the kalk rais it to high? Not sure what my Calcium or Mag levels are at as I am waiting for new test kits to be shipped to me.

Thanks

Yes, the BRS pump can handle that

Yes, kalk will raise your ph

It may or may not be too much to add in one day, do you know your daily alk and calc consumption rate?

Why are you wanting to add limewater?

I have that BRS pump for my topoff. I feed my RO water from a 20 gal holding tank to a Kalk stirrer and then to the sump. I run the BRS pump about 5 min and off 15 min.

I left my Level Loc (similar to your Kent float) in place to keep the topoff at the right level with straight RO. I can adjust how much the BRS output to hit my calcium target.

So, you don't have to run all the topoff thru the dosing pump.

Not sure what the daily consumption rate is, right now I only have a couple LPS and some zoanthids. I was wanting a simple easy way to maintain my calcium and alk levels with out having to do daily doses. Is there something different I should use that won't raise the pH since mine is currently at 8.38?

You'd normally add close to the full daily evaporation in limewater. You can always add less solid lime to the limewater if you need less than saturation due to excessive pH or alkalinity. :)
