Ok...Here is my plan. I'm going to be setting up a 140 in the very near future and I'm going to build my reef structure of mainly ava (sp?) with tonga branch/table. Now...I'd like to order TBS to seed my other rock with life it is obviously missing so I'm looking for the right rock to purchase. I see "coral on rock" and "decorator rock" available but what is the difference between the two? What I'm mainly looking for is the bright sponges/tunicates/corals that come on many of the pieces i've seen pictured on the boards along with an array of inverts (worms/pods/shrimp/etc). Which rock is best for me?
Also, as a side note, I've seen LOT of people displaying thier TBS rock OUT of water which I can only assume is doing a number on the live sponges present on the rock. I KNOW the cons of releasing the rock under the water (therefore mixing tank with shipping water) but wouldn't the pros of keeping the many sponges alive out weight the cons? Just curious.
Thanks.
