Well, first off, I am getting rid of all forms of caulerpa. I was wondering, what is there to put in for the ponies to hitch to aside from gorgonian? I also have a couple leathers that they don't touch, a sponge, polyps, a little halimeda... But overall, I believe they need more to cling to. Maybe I just can't think of anything else there is to put in there... Unimaginative?

I had some red leafy algae in there, but it didn't fare well. Does anyone know anything about this stuff? Also, do you know the cons of shaving brush or sea lettuce? I actually don't know anything about sea lettuce. I just want to get some variety for them. Any ideas?

Also, does anyone know a good online site to buy seahorses from? I've never bought them online mainly for fear of poor health. But with the prices of horses around here, I would like to hear of reputable sites.

And lastly, can someone tell me what kind of seahorse this is? They sold it as Erectus, but I'm not so sure. She's rather petite, and I've had her for almost 6 months.

My horses hitch to tonga branch rock and calerpa. I got lost of both. In one tank I've got some of those greek pillar aquarium ornaments they like to hitch too.

The only Macro I can get to grow is C. prolifera. Sorry not much help.

WWW.seahorsesource.com and Dracomarine have good reputaions. Actually seahorsesource has a stellar reputation, They'd be my first choice. There is also Ocean Rider, I had a good experience ordering from them but some don't have such great oppinions.

She looks like erectus. A side shot of her Coronet would help.

Kris

For hitches, you can use just about anything. Fake branching corals are good, like staghorns and cats paw. Dead branching corals are also good. You can also use nylon rope and fake plants. If you want something living, I believe they will hitch to Kenya Tree coral, but don't quote me on that.
I'm just getting into macros so I don't have any advice on those questions, and I'm not very good at I.D.ing seahorses yet.
Good online sources of captive bred seahorses are www.seahorsesource.com and www.dracomarine.org. Seahorse source also has some good fake branching corals for hitching posts, and lots of other supplies you might want. Ocean Rider www.seahorse.com also sells CBs but their prices are high and while some people love them, others have had aweful experiences.
You generally don't want to mix species of seahorses, so if you want to find your girl a tankmate, someone would have to I.D. her for you. Also, be sure she is captive bred and tank raised, because if she is wild caught or pen-raised, she could pass diseases to any captive bred seahorses or pipefish you place with her since they may not have immunities to them.

i have red grape kelp, Botryocladia Sp and my horses love it and its a beautiful red color.... go to www.marineflora.com and go to the macro algae and look at there algaes, great stuff.
