a little confused

so i recentley changed from a biocube to a solana i took the chance to upgrade my lights to t-5s.now my question is this my fire and ice colony polyps are uaually not open all the way but since the new lights ive already seen new polyps sprout while the rest of the colony remains not fully open.should i be concerned that somethings wrong or do i have nothing to worry about.

Where are they placed in the tank? I believe the biocubes have PC lighting and the t-5's definitely have a different light spectrum. Maybe you should place the colony in the sand and let them acclimate to the new lighting conditions. I heard that zoas could go into shock, if the light is suddenly changed. I noticed that with some new sour apples that I bought a few weeks ago. He had them under t-5's then moved them into PC's for a few days before I bought them. I'm running 150 watt MH 14k Phoenix bulb in my Aquapod and I moved them from the center to the sand because they were opening only part way. Now they're fully opened and I'll probably gradually move them up.
