A little help for all.

a skimmer on ebay some brand named sky something, a sick sebae anemone, top fin anything except the tanks, had the worst luck with algae fix by API. it seemed to enhance my algae not fix it.

well i cant edit my post. something is wrong, but i did wanna tell you my best equipment by far is the Odyssea PS75 skimmer and the Odyssea WP 1000 pump. for the money hands down awesome n cheap. reliability is awesome skimmer is over 6 months and works like a charm. the pump is three years old been through a pond and saltwater tank and is purring like a newborn kitten with no breaks, jams, is quiet and for the money i have by far gotten more out of it then my old mag n ehiem which seem to break after the year mark.

Y know their called sea-clowns on RC..
Funny though you can mod them ok ..should be on here (cutting the internal riser..

Ya sea-clones suck it was my first skimmer…. I can how ever recommend a needlewheel protein skimmer over any down draft skimmer...... got a new cone skimmer and love it….

Coralife Super "Sucker" skimmer. Made it into a media reactor and it works rather well with seachem purigen pellets.

Cone X needle wheel skimmers the way of the future ..low energy use high performance..
Of course I've always been a fan of the CONES!! ;)

I have a corallife super skimmer and have been very pleased with it.

I really detest how much money it costs for small/nano custom skimmers.

I bought a Tunze nano DOC .. what a cheap hunk of junk the same for sapphire skimmer. Cheap modded home brew hunks of junk. give me something engineered and manufactured correctly please.

I have been most pleased w/ Eccotech marine propeller pumps. not inexpensive for sure, but has been a very reliable piece of equipment.

ACIII- was the best money I ever spent.

Second to that was my BM-NAC7 Skimmer.

Worst was AquaC Remora skimmer

Best was an APEX
Second best was an ATO
Third best was Dosing pumps
...you can see where I'm going with this :P

Worst...hmm. I had a Remora C that was crappy but didn't pay for it:P

Ya Dan (LPS157) I got BM-NAC7 Skimmer made by bubble magus nice skimmer. I was a little concerned when I ordered it because it’s a Chinese company, but imprested when it came. The plastic is a little thin but it skims very well… I would deff. Recommend this skimmer…

One of the worst things I had is a seaclone skimmer. What a piece of junk
+1

I did work at a machine shop back then and modify the cup and also the intake of air and it turned out better then before. Of course i am refuge guy and dont believe in hang on backs. lol

Probably my best investment was my RO/DI unit!!!! I dont know about you guys but i was sick to hauling 5 gallon jugs of water for evaporation and water change. I think they are worth there weight and good and have other uses such as cooking and drinking as well.

My skimmer is probably my best investment. I use a Octopus extreme 200 with the PSK-2500 pump. I would say it has been one of the best skimmer since it does 225 gallon average bio-load and uses less then 30watts?!?!? Can't beat that! The new model are coned and have the gate valve mod. Thanks

Best vs worse

Best vs worse

Best additoin to my 46bow reef was 38gallon refugium , i trade in cheato for frags at LFS. Worst-Leaving my new Nova Extreme Pro T-5 X 6 39watts running for about 6 months without a cover and totally corroded it and voided the year manufacturs warranty. Happy Reefing Mexico!!!!!!

ATO is the best by far. Took about three weeks of manually dumping in water every day before I gave up and got it. Best decision ever.

Worst was the Remora C skimmer. Seemed to work ok but was LOUD and that made the wife grumpy. Never a good thing. Turned it off after a year and have a nice quiet tank now.
