On a piece of my LR there has popped up a shiny black ball. I haven't touched it to see if it's hard or soft but it is real shiny black and smooth and about the size of a marble. No, it's not a marble LOL.

Any thoughts on what the heck this thing is? I took a pic but it's not super clear. I will post the pic tomorrow when I transfer it to my laptop. This thing just kinda popped up outta nowhere...it's really cool looking but it has me completely baffled.

Also, there is a plant that started growing on the rock. It hasn't hurt anything and has been there for approximately a month.

Tank consists of:

Cleaner shrimp - 1
Fire shrimp - 1
False Percs - 2 (although one has been MIA for a while)
Chromis - 2
BTA - 1
Starfish (bright orange) - 1
Emerald Crabs - 2
Fighting Conch - 1
Several snails of various sizes and species
Several Hermits of various sizes and species
One sponge that I'm not sure what it is...it's orange and looks like a Chock-O-Stick.
Several snail looking things that I believe are Abelones

bubble algea, not good, seeing as how you have 2 emerald crabs, they either dont care about it or havent noticed it yet....dont pop it tho

if it is valonia (bubble algae) just carefully pop it off and throw it away. If left unchecked it will more likely spread and become a nuisance. If you have a pic post up to be sure of what it is.

Here are the two pics. Forgive the quality, all that I had handy was my cell phone. Looking up bubble algae on google images, it does look like that. ...and here I was excited that I had something cool in my tank LOL
